WEB FREEBIE WEDNESDAY: FastWeb

Welcome to Web Freebie Wednesday (sorry this is a couple days late). Today's freebie is FastWeb. FastWeb is a free scholarship database online. Students of any age can create a profile and FastWeb will match them with available scholarships that match their criteria. While some scholarships depend on grades there are tons that don't. Many of them only require an essay to apply. So don't pay for a book which lists scholarships, don't pay for access to scholarship databases online, and hopefully, don't pay for your education either. Good luck and enjoy FastWeb.

WEB FREEBIE WEDNESDAY: Quantum Leap

Welcome to Web Freebie Wednesday, February 29, 2012, the mid-week event featuring some of the best freebies of the web. Today's freebie is one that would usually be posted on an event such as Free Movie Monday. However, since today is the extra day for "leap" year, I decided it would be fitting to post the pilot episode of the classic 80's TV series Quantum Leap. Many major networks, including NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and others, post full-length episodes of new TV series and some of their classics online. This can provide hours of free entertainment. Enjoy the show.

WEB FREEBIE WEDNESDAY: Free Typing Lessons and Games

Welcome to Web Freebie Wednesday, the mid-week event featuring some of the best freebies of the web. Today's freebie is FreeTypingGame.net. Computer literacy is constantly becoming more of a requirement in today's culture and especially in the work environment. As my own children grow, I'm sure I'll continue to tell them that one of the most helpful classes I ever took in high school was a computer typing class. Now, you can get that entire class for free online. If you are beginning to learn how to type, or if you want to practice so that you can increase your words per minute (wpm), then this is a perfect resource for you. FreeTypingGame.net has lessons for typing and they make it fun to learn with games. This has got to be one of the best educational resources online. The site is definitely ad-supported, but that shouldn't affect the learning experience.
